Activitiy 3:
Group work of 2 students:
Explore one of these sites for 30 minutes.
Provide a 7 minute presentation in the following form:
- give a brief overview of the complete site;
- present in details one or two applets on this site that you find most interesting (either the best, or the worst).
Homework 4 (20 points):

Provide a short summary (1 -1.5 pages) on the main features of your site. Include a detailed description of the applet(s) you find most interesting on this site.
Think in advance...
One of the exercices in this course will be a presentation of an 'electronic' introductory stat lecture. You will have to choose one of the topics listed below and prepare and present in the class an 18 minute totaly or partially Web-based lecture that should include:
- Introduction / Motivation of the students
- Theory (if required)
- Examples
- Hands-on experience for the students (exercices)
- Short quiz
You can choose one of the following topics:
- Basic graphics (histogram, stem-and-leaf plot...)
- Summary statistics (mean, median, variance...)
- Probability
- Linear regression
- Normal distribution
- Normal approximation to binomial distribution
- Confidence intervals and hypothesis testing
Your presentation in class will be evaluated by the fellow students (whose evaluations will be evaluated by the instructor :-). You will also have to provide a 3-5 page report on your lecture: detailed descriptions of each step with explanations why you chose this particular applet/textbook etc...
More details on this exercise will be available tomorrow... Now just think about the topic you would like to talk about...
