The Chunky Monkey (CDF) Link

This example illustrates the CDF ArcView-XGobi link. The CDF is calculated for the Crown Dieback Index (CDI) for two areas in the northeastern United States. The CDI measures tree crown health as a response to stressors.

The CDF link allows up to 10 regions to be specified by interactively drawing a polygon on the screen. The color of the polygon is used to identify the CDF for that region.

In this example, two areas are delineated for CDF prediction (above). The results of brushing the top 10 percent of the points in the CDF plots indicates that these points fall mainly in two clusters (above).
