Program

The conference will begin the afternoon of May 30, 2012, with three introductory 60 minute talks given by Ilya Kofman, Roland Van der Veen, and Helen Wong. These introductory talks will discuss open problems and tools that potential workers in the area need to master, as well as giving motivation for why this particular topic is important.

On Thursday, all three of these speakers will give 40 minute research--level talks which build upon their previous introductory talks. The schedule on Thursday and Friday will also include at least seven 50 minute talks describing recent advances by strong researchers in the field, and at least three 20 minute talks by graduate students. Finally, Friday will include an informal discussion session, where participants will have time to explore and talk about ideas and problems considered during the conference.
